The Role:
The Crop Manager plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of allocated cropping programs. Reporting to the Agricultural Manager, this role combines crop management, applied agronomy, and commercial responsibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering agronomic support across nutrition, pest, disease, irrigation, and soil health
- Conducting regular field monitoring and implementing timely interventions
- Preparing and managing crop budgets
- Planning and coordinating and training staff to meet seasonal demands
- Engaging with growers and stakeholders locally
- Ensuring compliance with WHS, QA, and regulatory standards
The Person:
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Experience in a field officer, agronomist, or similar role within intensive cropping systems.
- Strong understanding of vegetable production methods and agronomy.
- Proven experience managing budgets, labour, and operational costs.
- Experience in cool climate cropping (Tasmania) and vegetable production highly regarded.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
This is a hands‐on role where you'll be responsible for crop health, yield, and operational efficiency. You will be working closely with the field team and stakeholders to deliver high‐quality outcomes.
