Mental Health Clinician Position
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Mental Health Clinician to join our team in Wagga Wagga. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people experiencing mental health challenges.
About the Role
* The successful candidate will provide immediate, short to medium-term support for people experiencing crisis, distress, or moderate to severe mental health needs.
* They will work collaboratively with consumers and their families/carers to conduct biopsychosocial assessments, develop care plans, provide evidence-based psychological strategies, and coordinate care with other services.
This role involves welcoming and engaging service users, facilitating warm referrals, assertive follow-up for at-risk clients, and maintaining accurate clinical records. The clinician will participate in case reviews, liaise with GPs and external providers, contribute to data reporting, and work flexibly across a seven-day roster.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop care plans for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
* Provide evidence-based psychological strategies and coordinate care with other services.
* Welcome and engage service users, facilitate warm referrals, and maintain accurate clinical records.
* Participate in case reviews, liaise with GPs and external providers, and contribute to data reporting.
* Work flexibly across a seven-day roster.
Requirements
* Current full or working towards AHPRA registration as a clinical psychologist, registered psychologist, or occupational therapist (meeting Australian Competency Standards in mental health) OR accreditation with the AASW as a mental health social worker (or working toward).
* Demonstrated ability to engage consumers and families/carers in assessment, care planning, coordination, and referral support.
* Proven skills in providing holistic, evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
* Understanding of key issues affecting people with mental health and/or substance use concerns.
* High computer literacy and ability to use clinical software systems.
* Current driver's licence and willingness to travel, with flexibility to work outside standard hours.
