We have an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Brisbane based team. Reporting to our Corporate Services Manager, you will utilise your exceptional knowledge of accounting practices and legislation to assist the operational accounting function for Anaman.
About the Role
* Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
* Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
* Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
* Monitor and analyse financial performance, variances, and key metrics.
* Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation and documentation.
* Maintain and improve internal financial controls and processes.
* Prepare and lodge tax-related reports such as BAS, GST, and other statutory filings.
* Assist with cash flow management and financial planning.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and reporting support.
* Support system improvements and financial reporting automation initiatives.
About You
* 3 years' experience post professional accreditation (CA / CPA)
* Advanced level computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), financial software packages, and business intelligence tools
* Experience in monitoring and reporting on cash flow, debtors and other financial indicators
* Tax experience is highly advantageous
* Proven written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to build and manage relationships for successful outcomes.
