We are seeking an Accountant to join our collaborative team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‐paced environment, has strong analytical skills, and takes pride in delivering accurate financial information to support key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities for Accountant Jobs – Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
* Manage general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries.
* Support the month‐end and year‐end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for management review.
* Collaborate with internal and external auditors for statutory and regulatory compliance.
* Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
* Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to support operational and strategic decision‐making.
* Assist with process improvement initiatives within the finance function.
* Contribute to the preparation of tax returns and compliance documentation as required.
Essential Criteria For Accounting Positions – Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
* Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial processing.
* Experience with accounting software packages such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
* Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines in a dynamic accounting environment.
* Commitment to confidentiality and ethical financial practices.
Desirable Accounting Skills & Experience
* CA/CPA qualification (completed or in progress) highly regarded.
* Experience in accounting roles within the transport, logistics, or stevedoring industry.
* Exposure to financial reporting in a multi‐entity or international business structure.
* Knowledge of taxation, payroll, and statutory compliance requirements.
