Cloud Architect
This role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions across an enterprise. As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will be the technical authority for enterprise cloud solutions, working on high-impact transformation programs within a highly regulated Defence context.
You'll provide expert guidance across architecture, security, governance, and operational readiness—leveraging Microsoft Azure and M365 to deliver mission-critical capabilities.
We're looking for a senior Azure expert ready to drive cloud transformation in one of the most secure and complex environments. You'll work with stakeholders across business, security, and technology domains, evaluating and introducing emerging cloud technologies aligned to enterprise goals.
Key responsibilities include:
* Architecting and delivering secure, resilient, and cost-optimised Azure-based solutions.
* Defining cloud architecture strategy, guardrails, and reference patterns.
* Leading the cloud design process through governance and architecture forums.
* Mentoring technical teams, upskilling them in cloud-first principles and tools.
* Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
* Evaluating emerging cloud technologies and aligning them to enterprise goals.
* Driving infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and automation best practices.
* Supporting enterprise cloud migration, integration, and modernisation programs.
About You:
We're looking for someone with proven Azure solution architecture experience in regulated or Defence environments. You'll need deep expertise in cloud security, compliance, identity (Entra ID), and governance, as well as strong understanding of M365 security & collaboration platforms (Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint, DLP).
Experience driving cloud transformation and enterprise-scale migrations is also essential. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills are crucial, along with knowledge of Australian Defence compliance and information security requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS:
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (strongly preferred)
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
* Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
* ITIL v4 Foundation
* AWS Solution Architect (desirable)
