Task & Responsibilities
* Cook a range of meals to order, following recipes and house standards.
* Taste and adjust seasoning during preparation to ensure flavours are balanced.
* Plate food neatly, adding sauces and garnishes before serving.
* Inspect produce and supplies to make sure they are fresh and suitable for use.
* Keep ingredients stored safely in fridges, freezers, and other controlled areas.
* Operate ovens, grills and similar equipment, keeping temperatures at the right levels.
* Prepare meals for customers with allergies or other dietary needs when required.
* Help plan new menu items and estimate the quantities of food needed.
* Guide and support kitchen hands in their daily tasks.
Qualification & Experience
A highly relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV. In addition, 1 year of full time work experience as a COOK in the last 5 years is required. If the applicant has no relevant qualification, at least three years of highly relevant work experience in the last 5 years MAY substitute for the formal qualifications.
