About us
Northern Rockhampton Nursing Centre (NRNC) is comprised of 120 beds within the facility, of which 100 are Commonwealth funded beds and the remaining 20 are State funded beds used for interim care. The facility provides residential aged care accommodation for general high‐care residents, residents experiencing dementia, and offers interim care and residential Transition Care programmes. NRNC is divided into three wings – Cec Pritchard Wing, Ivy Baker Wing, and Westwood Wing – each caring for 40 residents.
About the role
* Develop and monitor the service's budget by regularly assessing the benchmark costs of each area—cleaning, food service, linen, fire safety and security, porterage, maintenance, grounds/gardening and waste management.
* Monitor and investigate the implementation of systems that provide optimal utilisation of the department's resources and accommodate amended or varied policies, standards and guidelines.
* Implement change‐management skills to ensure that staff continually update and improve service delivery to clients.
* Ensure the ongoing development of staff training programmes, maintain a high standard of training and development, and participate in staff recruitment and selection.
* Monitor commercial contracts to ensure contractors meet their obligations and that NRNC receives efficient and valuable service. Coordinate routine maintenance of plant and equipment with onsite maintenance staff and external contractors, including monitoring and supervision of repairs.
About you
* While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
* Food Safety Supervisor Course is a requirement of this position.
* Demonstrated experience in cleaning, catering, laundry, housekeeping, maintenance or gardening services.
* Display a working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
* Work closely with all staff and residents, as well as personnel from other health agencies, to ensure efficient, harmonious and cost‐effective service delivery.
* High‐level communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to consult and negotiate with clients and staff at all organisational levels.

* Hourly rate between $38.19 and $41.77 p.h.
