Role
The System Administrator specialising in Cybersecurity plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our complex ICT infrastructure. In this dynamic position, the System Administrator - Cyber will be involved in the administration and optimisation of cutting-edge cybersecurity tools,ensuring our systems remain secure and resilient. From configuring and monitoring security solutions to diagnosing and resolving technical issues, their work will directly impact our ability to protect sensitive data and maintain operational integrity. This role offers a unique blend of technical challenges and collaborative opportunities with internal teams and stakeholders to drive upgrades, testing, and maintenance initiatives forward. As a key member of our team, the System Administrator will also have the opportunity to mentor and coach junior team members, sharing their expertise in best practices and contributing to their professional growth.
Role responsibilities
Under limited direction, the System Administrator - Cyber will be responsible for the following key duties:
• Administer and support complex ICT infrastructure and business solutions.
• Administer and optimise Cyber security tools including configuration, monitoring, upgrades, backups, and system management.
• Diagnose and resolve operational and technical issues across complex environments.
• Coordinate upgrade, testing, and maintenance with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation, processes, procedures, and reporting in line with required standards.
• Mentor and coach team members on best practices.

• Demonstrated ability in designing and deploying complex ICT infrastructure in enterprise or government environments.
• Strong background across various system and applications used by cybersecurity teams (SIEM, AV/IDS, vulnerability management tools).
• Demonstrated ability to work across a full project lifecycle in collaborative teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
• Technical skills across virtualisation, network fundamentals, cross-domain or multidomain
solutions, programming/scripting is desirable.
Education/Qualification/Experience requirements
The following education, qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded:
• Proven technical expertise in ICT systems.
• Extensive experience in Operating Systems and Applications Patch Management processes.
• 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator.
• Relevant Professional certifications will be highly regarded.
• Cloud experience is desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (not essential) .
