Vetafarm is Australia's leading manufacturer of companion animal nutrition, supplements, and veterinary health products and proud recipient of the HRD Employer of Choice Award 2026, recognising our commitment to a workplace where people come first.
We are looking for a veterinarian with a genuine interest in animal nutrition, exotics, and product development to join our team in a supportive, hands‐on technical role.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem‐solving, and working closely with production, R&D, and quality teams without the pressures of clinical caseloads or high‐level regulatory responsibility. You will be part of a collaborative environment where well‐being, teamwork, and professional growth matter just as much as technical excellence.
What We Offer
* A permanent full‐time role with a competitive salary and benefits package
* The opportunity to work across nutrition, formulation, manufacturing, and regulatory functions
* Hands‐on skill development in avian, small herbivore, and exotic species alongside our in‐house veterinarian
* Ongoing professional development, including technical training and industry education
* A forward‐thinking business with robust systems, modern facilities, and a commitment to innovation
* Opportunities to represent Vetafarm at domestic and international trade, education, and industry events
* A positive, collaborative culture where your expertise is valued and your ideas help shape future products
About the Role
You'll provide practical veterinary and nutritional support across Vetafarm's product lines. The focus is on helping teams make good decisions, ensuring products are suitable for the species they're designed for, and contributing to continuous improvement.
Your day‐to‐day may include:
* Reviewing formulations for species suitability and nutritional balance
* Providing veterinary input to Production, Formulation and R&D teams
* Helping troubleshoot product or ingredient issues from a veterinary perspective
* Assisting with product information, usage guidelines, and technical content
* Supporting basic compliance checks against feed and welfare standards
* Working with QA/QC to understand product quality and safety considerations
* Participating in occasional clinical work to maintain and grow exotic species skills
* Helping create training materials and supporting internal education
* Attending selected trade or education events in a technical capacity
About You
* Veterinary qualification with eligibility to be registered in New South Wales
* Strong understanding of animal nutrition and species‐specific needs
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information clearly
* Collaborative, proactive and comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams
* Passion for innovation, continuous improvement and evidence‐based practice
If you're excited by the opportunity to combine veterinary expertise with product development, compliance and technical leadership, we'd love to hear from you!
