Your role
Purpose of the role:
To participate in the day-to-day activities of the wholesale lending division providing insights and expertise that help more senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.
Accountabilities:
* Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision-making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for wholesale lending, and partnering with clients across International Corporate banking and Investment banking.
* Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
* Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, and management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for wholesale lending.
* Management of the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support decision-making in wholesale lending.
* Training and mentoring of junior colleagues.

* Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
* Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex/sensitive information.
* Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside the team and external to the organization.

Training & development
As a Summer Analyst, you will be part of an international team spanning across UK, US, EMEA, and APAC. You will be a key partner to clients across International Corporate banking and Investment banking. You’ll receive genuine support and encouragement, with both senior and junior mentors to guide you.
During 6-9 weeks you may learn:
* An understanding of Barclays’ core relationship lending products for CIB clients
* End-to-end oversight of the transaction life cycle from origination and structuring to documentation and execution
* Core credit analysis skills
* Sustainability Linked structuring
* Holistic approach to commercial decision-making (Portfolio)
* To support client engagement and develop a client-focused mindset to deliver an excellent and tailored service
