About Central Gippsland Health
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and sub-acute services including rehabilitation. CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond, operating four residential aged care homes delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments. Community-based services support people to remain healthy, active and independent in their own homes, including Support at Home and Commonwealth Home Support Programs. An interdisciplinary allied health team offers physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work, and accessible public dental services are also provided. About Department
The Environmental Services Department is responsible for providing many and varied services to all areas of Central Gippsland Health Service. Services include portering, linen collection and delivery, patient/specimen/histories transfers, all aspects of housekeeping/cleaning, ensuring Victorian Government hospital cleaning standards are met, effective waste management of both clinical and general waste and carrying out waste audits, and supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
About the Role
* Undertake the provision of a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors to CGH.
* Undertake tasks to reliably and safely maintain high standards in the quality of care and service throughout CGH facilities.
* Practice, observe, and comply with all applicable standards, regulations and organisation policies.
Duties
* Provide safe and timely environmental services within the health service including cleaning and housekeeping, making of beds, changing and removal of linen, and any other domestic services related activity as required by the Environmental Services Team Leader.
* Undertake spot cleaning as identified and required by clinical leaders and the Environmental Services Team Leader.
* Clean various areas in CGH facilities and equipment & instruments as nominated by the Environmental Services Team Leader.
* Ensure all chemicals used when providing environmental services are at appropriate dilution rates and intended uses.
* Plan and schedule cleaning events such as vents cleaning, steam cleaning of carpets, stripping and buffing of vinyl surfaces, de-linting of linen services, deep cleaning of kitchen areas, and any other deep clean required at CGH facilities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Minimum Certificate III in Cleaning Operations or other relevant qualification and/or preparedness to undertake appropriate training.
