THE ORGANISATION
Our Ways Strong Together: National Peak Body for Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence is a newly established peak body dedicated to addressing family, domestic and sexual violence within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
THE ROLE
The Director will play a critical leadership role in supporting the development, strengthening and growth of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations (ACCOs) delivering family, domestic and sexual violence services.
The Director will work closely with the CEO to support member organisations to ensure that they are well-positioned to meet their goals and deliver high-impact outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, individuals and families to reduce all forms of violence.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrated experience delivering sector development, learning and development and/or training in a social and/or community services context.
* Understanding of the funding and service landscape related to family, domestic and sexual violence in Australia, particularly as it affects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the community-controlled sector.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills.
* Commitment to culturally safe practices, with a deep understanding of the principles of self-determination, truth-telling and community control and the ability to embed these principles into operational systems and service delivery.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build trusted relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, members, staff, government and other stakeholders.
* Willingness and ability to travel.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
* Experience delivering sector development activities within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled sector.
* Experience delivering sector development activities specific to family, domestic and/or sexual violence.
* Tertiary qualifications or proven career experience in business, governance, training, service delivery or related fields.
* A current open driver's license.
