The Opportunity
A rare opportunity exists for an experienced Employment practitioner to lead and grow the employment practice as either an established Partner or a high-performing Special Counsel ready to step up.
There is a strong platform to build from, including consistent internal referrals from across the firm's commercial practice and an established base of employer work. This is a genuine leadership seat with the autonomy to shape the practice and expand it in line with your strengths.
The Work
This is predominantly employer-side advisory and disputes, with occasional executive/employee matters. You will advise and represent clients across the full employment and IR spectrum, including:
* Strategic advice on workplace risk, operational change and sensitive issues
* Terminations, executive employment, investigations and restructures
* Employment compliance (awards, classifications, entitlements and payroll risk)
* Bargaining processes, industrial strategy and related disputes/negotiations
* Representation in workplace disputes and negotiations across a range of industries
About You
Partner option:
* Established employment partner with a strong reputation and the desire to step into a leadership role with real support and resourcing.
Special Counsel option:
* Senior employment lawyer (typically 8+ PAE) with a strong technical base, client confidence, and the drive to build a practice with a clear runway of internal referrals.
* Strong employer advisory and dispute experience
* Sound judgment, commerciality and an ability to work closely with business owners and executives
* A collaborative, team-first approach and appetite for leadership
