Are you a peer worker with lived experience and want to you use your own experience to help others and be part of an innovative and dynamic new service and team? SESLHD MHS is exploring and expanding contemporary approaches of service delivery using predominantly online and telehealth means with implementation Virtual Mental Health Care Programs.
The Rehabilitation Program, VHVCC is the first pilot program delivered within the Virtual Mental Health Care Program. The goal of the program is to help consumers live and participate in their communities as independently as possible, through improved self-management of their mental health concerns and establishment of community connections and skills to support this. Selection Criteria
Personal experience as a consumer of mental health services and ability to utilise the lived experience to support others in their own mental health recovery journey.
Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness and commitment to obtain. For Graduate Health Education Officers additional relevant degree required.
Experience working in a Peer Support Worker role, with the ability to plan, implement and evaluate group and individual peer led interventions.
Demonstrated knowledge of current local, State and National legislation and standards relevant to mental health.
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to consumer led recovery principles and trauma informed care.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within the multidisciplinary team and with a diverse range of stakeholders including consumers, families and service providers.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Current Drivers Licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
