Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Lead
Join Jensen Hughes to lead HSEQ in our Fire Testing Laboratory in Dandenong. This full‑time role reports to the HSEQ Manager and partners with laboratory management and safety committees to implement company HSEQ programs across our division. Responsibilities
Execute a company‑focused HSEQ program in the lab and coordinate with the broader HSEQ team to roll out initiatives across Australia and New Zealand. Lead incident investigations, recommend improvement opportunities, and ensure closure of all incidents and near‑misses on the company intranet. Distribute safety bulletins, ensuring all actions are completed before due dates. Work with management teams and safety committees to identify HSE concerns, gaps and provide solutions. Conduct audits, inspections and assessments to spot gaps and develop corrective programs. Establish and implement the Health, Safety and Environmental program, ensuring regulatory compliance. Assist managers and employees in identifying HSE improvement opportunities. Assist with hazard/risk assessments, SOPs and SWMS for tests, materials, substances and facilities. Prepare and deliver HSE training for new hires (e.g., manual handling, working at height). Coordinate return‑to‑work/modified duty programs with HR. Maintain the location Emergency Action Plan. Requirements and Qualifications
Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. On‑site position in Dandenong. Relevant experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum Certificate IV in WHS or NEBOSH General Certificate; Diploma preferred) with additional incident investigation and risk assessment qualifications desirable. Working knowledge of ISO standards (17025:2017, 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018) and Victorian WHS/Environmental legislation. Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a similar role.
