About the role
Working within SALHN at Flinders Medical Centre, you will contribute directly to neonatal clinical research activity while maintaining your connection to frontline care.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to proficient, person‐centred care and integration of research into patient care, providing patients/clients with opportunities to participate in research trials.
* Coordinate and support recruitment, consent, and enrolment of participants into approved neonatal research studies.
* Conform to research governance requirements specified in Clinical Trial Agreements and Study Protocols, and to Southern Adelaide Human Research Ethics Committee requirements.
* Liaise with principal investigators, medical officers and multidisciplinary team members to ensure study protocols are followed consistently.
* Monitor participant safety and promptly and appropriately escalating adverse events or protocol deviations.
* Contribute to the preparation of study reports, publications and presentations for internal and external audiences.
* Provide clinical leadership to up‐skill less experienced staff in research activities and ensure research interventions enhance patient care and facilitate patient flow.
* Identify opportunities to translate research findings into quality improvement activity within the unit.
* Participate in unit meetings, professional development activities and relevant research network forums.
About you
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate; OR Registered or eligible as a Midwife with the same board and holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate; OR Appropriate degree in an Allied Health discipline with registration recognised by AHPRA or eligibility for registration; OR Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.
* High level interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, problem solving and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, multidisciplinary staff, administrative staff and other agencies, both orally and in writing.
* Ability to provide leadership in a work group and foster team member participation in decision‐making and change processes that enhance multi‐disciplinary management.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines whilst working under minimal supervision.
* Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the clinical setting.
* Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and Immunisation compliance as indicated.
