Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work as a skilled tradesperson within AJP's Operations Team to deliver high quality internal linings services, for a broad range of residential and commercial construction projects, across the Northern Territory.
* Apply trade skills to independently or collaboratively:
o install a range of steel wall and ceiling systems;
o fix various linings, beads and trims; and
o set and sand joints to high standard finishes.
* Adhere to a range of compliance requirements (as they relate to internal linings projects), including:
o the Building Code of Australia (BCA)/National Construction Code (NCC);
o relevant Australian/New Zealand standards;
o manufacturer installation guidelines; and
o Work Health and Safety (WHS)/ Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
* Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, other trades, suppliers and clients.
Essential Selection Criteria:
* A relevant trade certification (e.g. Certificate III in Solid Plastering, Certificate III in Fibrous Plastering (Wall and Ceiling Lining) or Certificate III in Carpentry) and/or at least 5 years experience within the trade.
* The ability to independently and/or collaboratively:
o install a range of steel wall and ceiling systems (e.g. bulk heads, shadow lines, exposed/suspended grids and coffered ceilings);
o fix various linings, beads and trims (i.e. standard/acoustic plasterboard, angle beads, suspension brackets, studs, direct fix clips); and
o set and sand to high standard finishes (i.e. to meet Level 3,4 and/5 finishes).
* Experience working on commercial construction projects, ideally within the Northern Territory, with knowledge of the associated expectations.
* Awareness of the Building Code of Australia (BCA)/National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian/New Zealand standards, and manufacturer installation guidelines (as they relate to walls and ceilings).
* The ability to operate on a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary worksite and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, other trades, suppliers and clients.
* Awareness of, and the ability to adhere to, Work Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
* Demonstrated work ethic with the ability to be professioanl, punctual, reliable, accountable and respectful in commercially sensitive environments.
* Willingness to work at remote locations across the Northern Territory as/when required.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
* Construction related training/tickets e.g. First Aid, Elevating Work Platforms, Working at Heights (or willingness to obtain, if required).
* High security project clearances e.g. National Police, Defence, Working with Children, Aviation Security Identification Card (or willingness to obtain, if required).
