About the role:
Challenger is seeking experienced, enthusiastic and results driven part time kitchen stewards to join our team on afternoon and night shifts. In this fast-paced hands-on role, you will be encouraged to take pride in your work and be committed to working to a high level of safety, delivering exceptional hospitality services based on our award-winning standards and our client's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be an integral part of the operations of busy commercial kitchens
* Operate commercial dishwashers and other commercial kitchen equipment
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and benches ensuring all rubbish is removed and equipment is correctly stored
* Prepare equipment required for functions (chafing dishes, plates etc)
* Assist the chefs with general kitchen duties
* Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards and safe work practices at all times.
About you:
We are looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:
* Be available to work across a rotating 7-day roster, including afternoons, evening and overnight shifts
* Have proven experience in fast paced commercial kitchen environments
* Have a good understanding of the safety elements associated with this job
* Have a good understanding of cleaning chemicals and their correct and safe handling
