Skills & Experience
Registered as an Optometrist in Australia with ocular therapeutics and demonstrated expertise in clinical optometry; actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and development.
Demonstrated ability for teaching and curriculum development at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Experience using blended / online teaching and learning pedagogies and implementing educational technologies and innovations.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant leading-edge discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
Demonstrated capability to enhance student learning and career-focused education (e.g. better ways of assessing students, practicums, work integrated learning and contributing to bringing out the best in students, student feedback and students as partners).
Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others (e.g. mentoring, tutor development and peer support of colleagues).
Demonstrated excellence in educational quality (e.g. Assurance of Learning themes, professional and accreditation).
Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to support and inspire with staff and students from diverse backgrounds and support Student Equity Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
