About the Role
The Principal Injury Management Consultant plays a critical role in providing authoritative advice to senior managers and employees on injury management policies and practices.
As a key member of the Central Office Injury Management Team, you will lead the development of the department's injury management policies, systems, and procedures, ensuring efficient and effective human resource management services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide professional direction, leadership, and consultancy services to regionally based injury management personnel, senior management, and other clients on a range of injury management activities.
* Lead and oversee the injury management team in the development, implementation, maintenance, and review of programs, systems, policies, and procedures to support the delivery of injury management services.
* Provide high-level advice to the Director Organisational Safety and Wellbeing and senior managers on a broad range of injury management policies, systems, and practices.
* Prepare briefing material and reports for the Director-General and senior departmental officers on substantial human resource management issues related to injury management.
* Coordinate or assist in the planning and facilitation of training for central and regional office staff in relation to injury management.
* Establish and maintain a network of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinators in central office and liaise with officers from other agencies and organisations to provide support and professional development and promote contemporary injury management issues.
* Represent the department at high-level negotiations in a variety of forums on issues relating to the functional activities of the injury management area.
