We're seeking a capable and motivated SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join a large-scale enterprise technology environment. This role plays a critical part in managing, maintaining, and optimising database platforms that support business‐critical applications.
You'll work across relational and NoSQL technologies, ensuring database availability, performance, security, and resilience. This opportunity suits an experienced DBA who enjoys hands‐on technical work, problem‐solving, and collaboration within a fast‐paced enterprise setting.

Core Responsibilities
Database Management
* Administer, monitor, and maintain relational databases including SQL Server and MySQL.
* Support and manage NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra.
* Ensure high availability, reliability, and operational stability across database environments.
Performance & Optimisation
* Identify and resolve database performance issues.
* Optimise queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations.
* Proactively monitor database health and capacity.
Backup, Recovery & Availability
* Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery processes.
* Ensure data integrity and rapid recovery in the event of failures.
* Support high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Security & Compliance
* Enforce database security standards and policies.
* Manage user access, permissions, and authentication.
* Protect sensitive data through best‐practice security controls.
Automation & Operations
* Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency.
* Reduce manual operational overhead through tooling and scripting.
* Work closely with development, infrastructure, and platform teams.
* Support application deployments, migrations, and enhancement initiatives.
* Participate in an on‐call roster for critical out‐of‐hours database support.
Documentation
* Maintain clear and accurate documentation for database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
* 5–7 years' experience as a Database Administrator in an enterprise environment
* Strong expertise in SQL Server and MySQL administration and tuning
* Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra
* Strong understanding of replication, high availability, and disaster recovery
* Proficiency in SQL and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
* Hands‐on troubleshooting and performance diagnostics experience
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Proven ability to manage priorities in a fast‐paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with cloud database services such as Azure SQL Database or GCP Cloud SQL
* Exposure to large-scale or complex enterprise systems
* Strong automation mindset and operational maturity
* Experience working within agile or hybrid delivery teams
* Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
