Are you a Senior Fitter, Mechanic or Workshop Supervisor who loves being on the tools but is ready to own the entire maintenance process? We are looking for a Hands-On Workshop Manager to take the reins of our civil & electrical construction fleet, plant and small equipment.
This isn't a role where you'll be stuck behind a desk all day filling out spreadsheets. You'll be at the heart of our operations—split between scheduling and getting your hands dirty to ensure our gear stays onsite with maximum uptime.

The Role
As our Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end health of our diverse fleet. You will balance your time between liaising with project managers, performing internal repairs and maintenance, managing our network of external specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hands-on Maintenance: Perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on motor vehicles, heavy trucks (Crane trucks, EWP's, Tippers) earthmoving plant (Excavators, Skidsteers, Backhoes).
* Fleet Management: Oversee preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
* External Coordination: Manage relationships and quality control for overflow work and specialist external repairs.
* Small Plant Care: Ensure our smaller assets and tools are serviced and site-ready.
* Safety First: Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workshop environment.
What You Bring to the Team
* Trade Qualified: Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle or Motor Mechanic qualifications.
* Industry Experience: Proven experience working with earthmoving equipment. A minimum of 3-5 years experience preferred.
* Other Skills highly regarded: Auto electrical, Hydraulics, Welding, CV Truck mounted Crane, LF Forklift, other operator tickets.
* The "Owner" Mindset: You take pride in the fleet as if it were your own and don't need hand-holding to get the job done.
* Problem Solver: Ability to diagnose complex faults and decide whether to fix them in-house or outsource for efficiency.
* Licensing: A heavy vehicle license (HR) is highly regarded.
