Family Visit and Mentoring Team Leader Position Overview
The primary function of this role is to provide strategic leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Family Visit Support Workers, Youth Support Workers, and Mentors. This includes direct supervision, training, and mentorship to ensure successful family time for children and young people, their families, and carers.
This position plays a critical role in providing expert knowledge and expertise in child and adolescent development, trauma, and relationship building. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising and leading teams, managing challenging behavior, and de-escalating crises.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide effective leadership, guidance, and support to the team
* Develop and implement strategies to improve family visit outcomes
* Conduct regular coaching and mentoring sessions with team members
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve program goals
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or Early Education, or equivalent experience
- Proven track record in supervising and leading teams
- Demonstrated understanding of child and adolescent development and trauma
- Ability to manage challenging behavior and prevent or de-escalate crises
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
