Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Own and manage the end‐to‐end payroll function
* Oversee and liaise with external payroll providers
* Review and approve payroll outputs including salaries, superannuation, bonuses, commissions, and terminations
* Act as the primary point of contact for payroll queries from employees and internal stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with Fair Work, ATO, superannuation, payroll tax, and other legislative requirements
* Manage payroll reporting, reconciliations, and month‐end close activities
* Maintain, improve, and document payroll processes, controls, and systems (including HR/leave software)
* Maintain audit‐ready payroll records and support internal and external audits
* Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable during peak periods and assist with process improvements
The Successful Candidate Will Have
* At least 5 years' experience in end‐to‐end payroll
* A solid understanding of Australian payroll and employment legislation
* Experience working with external payroll providers (a bonus)
* Experience using payroll/HR systems and accounting software (Xero is a plus!)
* High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and good reconciliation skills
* The ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload
* A team‐player mindset, with openness to helping out with AP & AR when needed
* Clear communication skills and a friendly, collaborative attitude
