What's the job?
As one of the island's Painters, you will assist with general painting, wallpapering, repairs to attractive finishes, repairs and maintenance in the hotel as requested Maintenance Manager.
Your day to day
Perform painting, plastering, minor carpentry, plumbing, and equipment repairs; assist with wall and surface preparation and basic bathroom maintenance.
Instructs other engineering staff in correct methods of surface preparation and paint application in other areas of his/her trade expertise.
Follow all Occupational Health & Safety guidelines, hotel policies, and emergency procedures; report hazards or unsafe practices.
Assist and train colleagues, share information, and maintain a positive working atmosphere; communicate feedback and updates with managers.
Attend briefings and training, wear proper uniform, meet grooming standards, and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
Live up to high safety standards follow guidelines and inform Engineering Management about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment.
Maintain confidentiality, adhere to equal opportunity and behaviour policies, and ensure guest comfort by prioritizing urgent tasks
What we need from you
Formal Qualification in Painting, Decorating and or Plastering
Fitness – You will be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling
QLD White Card and Drivers Licence
Strength –You will need to lift, push and pull big objects like luggage, bags, and parcels up to 50lbs (23 kg)
Skills–Interpersonal skills both written and verbal
