About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical (ICT) Business Analyst to be the face of IT and bridge the gap between IT and business units using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. In this role, you will combine your high-level technical expertise, strong business acumen and data analytics skills to deliver real value for business units at Sydney Markets Limited.
Reporting to our Head of IT, you will be an integral part of a supportive and growing team based at Flemington.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & User Stories
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, gather detailed business requirements, and create user stories.
Document functional and technical requirements clearly, including business scenarios and acceptance criteria.
Process & Ideation Analysis
Analyse current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and ideation generation.
Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to engage tenants and staff in solution ideation.
Solution Design
Design and propose technical solutions aligned with business goals.
Create detailed specifications for proposed solutions, including data models, system integrations, and user experience improvements.
Stakeholder & Staff Engagement
Engage stakeholders at various levels, including tenants and staff, to ensure alignment and buy-in for proposed solutions.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between business units and IT teams.
Project Management
Lead project initiatives from conception through implementation.
Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Perform data analysis to support business decisions and identify trends and insights.
Create and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to stakeholders.
System Implementation
Oversee the implementation of new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
Coordinate testing, training, and deployment activities.
Quality Assurance
Develop and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are free of defects.
Perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
Propose and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Technical Documentation
Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and solutions.
Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* 3+ years experience in a Technical or ICT Business Analyst role.
* Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Business Analytics or similar.
* Strong understanding of IT systems, databases, and software development.
* Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
* Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proven experience managing and delivering IT projects.
