As part of the Specialist ITC Program based in 
**Wollongong and the surrounding areas**, you will support vulnerable children and young people within a residential out of home care setting. 
The youth worker will ensure that a safe and comfortable environment is maintained and that children and young people engage in activities that promote wellbeing and development. 
Core responsibilities: 
- Attend to the daily care needs of children and young people; 
- Provide therapeutic support and guidance and ensure consistency of care at all times; 
- Manage challenging and complex behaviours; 
- Facilitate the operation of the residential household, including cleaning, cooking and other relevant tasks; 
- Support and promote social, emotional, behavioural and developmental outcomes for children and young people 
Essential Criteria 
- **Must be available for variety of shifts including sleepovers and active night shifts**: 
- Relevant qualification in community services, youth work or similar 
- Full NSW Drivers Licence 
- Covid Vaccinations including booster 
- Current First Aid certificate 
- Current CPR certificate 
- WWCC 
- Willingness to undergo a police check
