You will join teams working to advance Australia's military space capabilities, and enhance collaboration with our Allies and the Australian space industry.
The Defence Space Command, Strategic Plans Branch, is looking for a high performing, experienced workforce planner to be a part of their Strategic Workforce Planning team. You will be involved in a wide range of strategic workforce planning roles and action plans, to grow the Australian Defence Force and APS space workforce in size and experience.
You will exploring internal and external factors to minimise workforce risk, and look for opportunities to achieve operational effectiveness.
The role also includes determining the necessary skills, capabilities and competencies required to achieve strategic and operational goals in the future; and developing policies and strategies to assist in achieving these goals.
**About our Team**
Defence Space Command is a whole of Defence organisation (ADF and APS) that adheres to the Total Workforce System, hosted by Air Force. The core focus is to centralise and concentrate effort to effectively coordinate and manage Defence space outcomes.
The Strategic Workforce Management team is responsible for the overall management of the Defence space workforce. This includes the development of the Defence Space Strategic Workforce Plan, its implementation, including coordinating with Services and Groups that manage workforce categories identified as part of the space workforce.
The Directorate will drive establishment management for Defence Space Command, subordinate units and future capabilities.
This team supports Defence Space Command executives and work areas with APS recruitment and establishment of positions for full time and part time ADF personnel.
The national space community comprises a multidisciplinary workforce that contributes a range of experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge for the sustainment of space capabilities.
