We're looking for a Communications Advisor who is as confident developing strong visual content as they are providing trusted communications advice. This is a truly hybrid communications role for someone who enjoys combining graphic design with end‑to‑end communications planning and advisory work. You’ll work closely with teams across the Ministry to understand their needs, shape clear and effective communication approaches, and deliver high‑quality written and visual content across a range of channels.
In This Varied Role, You Will
* provide practical, fit‑for‑purpose communications advice and develop communication and stakeholder plans
* create and publish high‑quality written and visual content for internal and external audiences
* design and produce graphic content, including layouts, illustrations, imagery and digital assets
* put your plain language abilities to good use
* work collaboratively across the Ministry, building strong relationships and delivering excellent customer service
* contribute to continuous improvement, innovation and a positive team culture
Ō Pūkenga – Skills And Experience
We're keen to hear from people who bring:
* 2–3 years (or more) experience in a communications role
* demonstrated experience creating visual and graphic content, alongside written communications
* excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
* digital content experience and confidence working across different channels
