We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our growing team in Newcastle. Initially, this role will involve working part-time from partnering surgeons' clinical rooms, providing functional assessments and treatment while managing an existing patient load.
The new Kieser Newcastle clinic offers a unique opportunity to transition to a part-time or full-time role. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a crucial role in triaging patients and safely prescribing exercise and strength training to support their recovery and wellbeing.
Our Exercise Physiologists work with a diverse range of clientele impacted by chronic disease and are dedicated to empowering clients to restore strength and confidence, enabling them to continue enjoying their favorite activities. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing functional assessments and developing individualised treatment plans for existing patients in the surgeons' rooms.
* Collaborating with surgeons and healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient outcomes.
* Delivering evidence-based exercise prescriptions for rehabilitation and recovery.
* Supporting patient care with tailored exercise programs designed to improve mobility, strength and overall health.
Qualifications and Certifications
Required qualifications and certifications include:
* A recognised Bachelor or Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology Degree from the Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
* Current ESSA registration.
* Valid working rights in Australia.
* Active and current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
* First Aid & CPR Certification.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* National Police Check.
* Working with Children Check.
* Demonstrated experience in a hospital setting.
* Strong experience in rehabilitation and functional assessments.
* Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Flexibility to work part-time or full-time, with availability on specific days.
