Thales AMS (Airspace Mobility Solutions) is providing leading edge airspace control and security solutions for the commercial and defence sectors, as well as digital solutions for Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation. AMS represents revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide and is the global market leader in the Air Traffic Management space, and one of the most credible players in the new UTM space. We control 11% of the global airspace with our technologies and we continue to strive to be at the forefront of the air traffic management space.
About the role
This position will be working within our OneSky program, where we are developing an integrated civilian & defence air traffic management system. For this critical program, we’re in search for a Systems Engineer for one of the key subsystems, focusing on the ATM domain. In this role you will work in an international multidisciplinary feature team focused on the design, development and validation of the subsystem.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the systems engineering artefacts of the Function, including; requirements, capability description, functional behaviour and data exchanges (internal and external interfaces)
- Ensure the transversal constraints related to the function are considered (Safety, Human Factor, Performance, Security)
- Contribute to the definition of the validation strategy
- Contribute and participate to the technical reviews (SOR, SFR, FIRR, SwRR)
- Provide technical oversight to other teams within the project/bid, ensuring that the designed solution is implemented as per the design and in accordance to the project/bid schedule and cost and quality constraints
On the first day you will come with
- Proven experience working on Air Traffic Management projects (mandatory)
- Degree Qualified in an Engineering discipline
- Experience in Systems Engineering across one of or a combination of Requirements management, Design, Integration and Verification and Validation
- Experience with Systems Engineering Standards eg. ISO/IEC15288
- Proven experience in the development of products and projects in a variety of methodologies, with a particular focus on iterative/agile development
- Strong communication skills and able to work in multidisciplinary teams
- High level of creativity, initiative, pragmatism and persuasiveness
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed with a robust sense of accountability and integrity
Note: A Defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
