Office for Early Childhood DevelopmentJob reference: 690823Location: 5000 - ADELAIDEJob status: Long Term ContractEligibility: Open to EveryoneWhy Work With UsThe Office for Early Childhood Development has been formed with a clear mandate: to create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia by implementing the accepted recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce developmental vulnerability.This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher-led preschool from the age of 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce, and greater supports and connected services for families in the 1000 days of a child's life.About This RoleReporting to the Communications and Media Lead, the Senior Communications Advisor provides expert communications advice, develops high-quality content, and delivers strategic communications, media and marketing plans to support the implementation South Australia's Flying Start early childhood reforms.The role will work with internal stakeholders to identify and set communications objectives and priorities, and develop and implement subsequent communications plans, resources and collateral.
The role will provide end-to-end high-quality communications advice, service and support across a range of internal and external communications channels.This role will understand audience motivation and work collaboratively with the broader Communications and Engagement team, ensuring alignment of the OECD's broader communications and engagement framework across all channels.Working within a fast-paced and politically sensitive environment, the position needs to be adaptable and able to work across multiple projects, priorities and business areas efficiently, effectively under broad direction.Your Key ResponsibilitiesDeveloping high-level strategic proactive media and social media plans for significant agency projects and politically sensitive initiatives.
Developing, writing, editing and distributing compelling, clear and succinct proactive and reactive communications and media content tailored to the audience and communication channel.
Act as a trusted business partner to internal teams, providing expert communications advice and creating plans to support key programs and initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.
Provide a proactive approach to media and social media issues through actively monitoring media reports to advise of emerging issues, identifying opportunities and developing strategies to deliver positive messages and contributing to the development of the Office's media and social media policy, guidelines and procedures.
About YouYou will bring exceptional communication skills with your extensive experience developing, implementing and evaluating strategic communications strategies that set clear, measurable objectives.To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who brings:Proven experience in project management (planning, developing and administering projects to successful outcomes) Proven capability in stakeholder engagement (demonstrated ability to consult, liaise, collaborate and negotiate to understand needs and requirements and balance competing demands to deliver outcomes).
