The UTS Climate Change Cluster (C3) provides a deeper understanding of the world's aquatic plant and microbe ecosystems that are critical to the wellbeing of the global community. We produce new insights that address the challenges of human and ecological interactions with the climate.

We conduct interdisciplinary research bridging physical, chemical, and life sciences to address climate change impacts on ecosystems. Our work generates critical knowledge and solutions to global challenges, including food and energy security, sustainability, ecological resilience, and the nexus of human and environmental health.

**About the role**

We are recruiting for a **Postdoctoral Research Fellow in AI-data Analysis** to contribute to our cutting-edge project on optimising algae biomanufacturing using Industry 4.0 principles. This role is pivotal in developing AI-based neural network algorithms and integrating advanced sensors to automate and enhance algae cultivation and processing systems. The fellow will contribute to creating a robust digital twin framework and predictive analytics for real-time optimisation of biomanufacturing processes.

In this role you will contribute to the continued growth of research areas, proactively engage with industry professionals, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.

**About You**

You will be a critical thinker with the ability to analyse and solve problems. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with extensive expertise in designing, training, and validating machine learning (ML) models and neural networks, with a focus on biological systems or industrial processes.
- A PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Bioprocess Engineering, Systems Biology, or a related field
- Proven experience developing and implementing machine learning or neural network models, preferably in biomanufacturing or biological systems
- Strong research publication track record
- Ability to secure competitive research grants

**Base Salary Range**:$121,566 to $143,880 pa (Level B)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) **in addition**to the base salary.

The position is **full-time**and will be made on a **2-year fixed term basis.**
