Field horticulturist

Job Overview


Horticulturalists play a pivotal role in maintaining the health and beauty of trees, gardens, and landscapes.


Key Responsibilities:



* Help plant 500,000 trees annually across streets and reserves.

* Conduct regular inspections and perform formative pruning, watering, mulching, and fertilising to support healthy tree growth.

* Participate in front and mid-deck mowing, tractor cutting, and broadleaf spraying.

* Work closely with team members to ensure high-quality outcomes and contribute to a positive team environment.

* Deliver timely, community-focused service while maintaining high operational and safety standards.



Requirements:



* Reliable transportation for travel to work sites.

* Ability to lift up to 25kg.

* Manual handling skills.

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

* Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail.



Working Conditions:


Work will be performed in a variety of outdoor environments including parks, gardens, and public spaces. The employee must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
