Job Description
We are currently recruiting a full-time Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team located in the heart of Noosa, just steps from Noosa Main Beach.
This is a hands-on role suited to a skilled and passionate pastry professional who takes pride in quality, consistency, and presentation.
The position involves the preparation, production, and presentation of a range of pastry items in accordance with established menus and standards.
You will bring strong technical pastry skills, the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment, and a genuine passion for producing high-quality desserts and baked goods.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing, baking, and presenting pastries, desserts, and baked goods in line with menu specifications
Planning and organising pastry preparation across service periods
Ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation of all pastry items
Monitoring food preparation processes to ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations
Correctly storing ingredients and finished products, managing stock rotation to minimise waste
Assisting with ordering, receiving, and checking pastry ingredients and supplies
Cleaning and maintaining pastry equipment, workstations, and production areas
Supporting kitchen operations during service as required
Contributing to menu execution and continuous improvement of pastry offerings
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of relevant full-time commercial pastry or cooking experience, or a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery / Patisserie (or equivalent)
Proven experience performing duties consistent with the occupation of Pastry Chef
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience in restaurant or high-volume pastry production
Bread and dough production experience
Dessert plating and modern pastry techniques
Chocolate, pastry cream, or laminated dough experience
Food Safety Supervisor certification
