Job Overview
We are seeking experienced tax professionals to join our indirect tax advisory team in Sydney. This is an opportunity to work in a supportive environment and contribute to delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on GST, stamp duties, land tax, fuel tax credits, customs duties, and state taxes.
* Support clients with ATO assurance reviews and audits.
* Assist in delivering tax governance, data analytics, and tax technology services.
* Conduct research on relevant case law, legislation, and revenue authority guidance.
* Be a key point of contact for clients and assist in managing client relationships.
* Contribute to managing billing and control of Work In Progress, adhering to deadlines.
* Assist in assessing engagement risk and ensuring quality control on assignments.
* Help deliver in-house technical training on indirect tax issues.
* Manage and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
* A Business/Commerce degree with an Accounting major or a Law degree.
* Tax experience in a similar role, preferably with indirect tax or state tax exposure.
* Strong communication and written skills, with excellent attention to detail.
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
* A strong work ethic and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
Desirable Qualifications
* Progression toward or completion of CA, CTA, or equivalent qualifications.
* Pursuing or near completion of a Master of Taxation or Master of Laws (in Taxation).
* Completion of Practical Legal Training (PLT) or admission as a Solicitor (or working towards it).
