The Opportunity
Are you a litigator who thrives on complexity and high-stakes litigation? We are seeking an ambitious lawyer (at around the 3 to 7 years PAE level) to work with a leading disputes partner.
This is a premier opportunity to step away from the churn and engage in high‐calibre commercial disputes, regulatory investigations/enforcements and insolvency‐related matters. You will be with major financial institutions, ASX‐listed companies and insolvency practitioners.
The Role
Working closely with the partner and other senior lawyers within the team, you will be involved in:
* Banking & Finance Litigation: Acting for major lenders in high‐value recovery actions, security enforcement and complex contractual disputes.
* Insolvency & Restructuring: Advising on complex liquidations and administrations, including voidable transactions and public examinations.
* Regulatory & ASIC Matters: Navigating formal ASIC investigations, responding to notices and defending directors/entities in regulatory proceedings and civil penalty applications.
About You
You are a disciplined, commercially‐minded lawyer with around 3–7 years PAE gained from a reputable litigation practice. You bring:
* Strong experience in Commercial Litigation (Supreme and Federal Court experience).
* A solid grasp of the Corporations Act and the National Credit Code.
* Exposure to regulatory frameworks or defending actions brought by ASIC/APRA will be advantageous but not essential.
* The maturity to manage institutional clients.
