We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Planner to join our Data and Planning team based at our Mascot facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong planning and analytical skills to play a key role in optimising kitchen production and operational efficiency.
More about this role:
Reporting to the Manager Data & Planning with a dotted line to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen production schedule across the catering unit. You'll collaborate closely with Catering Schedule Coordinators, the Production Manager, and the National Planning team to ensure production plans meet customer requirements, financial targets, and operational efficiencies.
What are your responsibilities?
* Develop and maintain the local kitchen production schedule to meet customer orders, service levels, and financial targets.
* Collaborate with Production and Workforce Planning teams to improve daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
* Conduct scenario planning and "what-if" analyses to optimise production and materials usage.
* Communicate schedules and recommendations to operational teams and stakeholders, creating feedback loops to drive continuous improvement.
* Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) in partnership with Finance, Operations, and Customer Service teams.
* Provide insights and recommendations to improve kitchen production efficiency, labour utilisation, and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure compliance with Group management system standards and policies.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
* Proven success in a similar planning or production scheduling role.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights.
* Experience with ERP/MRP applications (QAD, JDE or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel/Power BI skills.
* Knowledge of airline catering operations and procedures is desirable.
* Relevant qualifications in Cookery, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing preferred.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Commitment, professionalism, and a positive "can-do" attitude.
