About the role:
We have an opportunity for an experienced and driven Senior Project Engineer, who displays strong communication and technical skills to join our Rockhampton team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Project Delivery & Technical Leadership – Lead the technical delivery of civil construction projects, providing engineering leadership to site teams, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and approved methodologies, and resolving complex technical and constructability issues.
* Planning & Programming – Support project planning and sequencing, develop and manage short-term and look-ahead programs, monitor progress against the construction program, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to time and productivity.
* Commercial & Contractual Management – Assist with contract administration including subcontractor management, variations, claims and EOTs, support cost tracking and forecasting, and ensure commercial obligations are clearly understood and met.
* Quality Assurance & Compliance – Lead project quality activities in accordance with the company IMS and ISO requirements, manage inspections and test plans, non-conformances, and corrective actions, and ensure accurate completion of handover and as-built documentation.
* Safety & Environmental Leadership – Demonstrate strong safety leadership, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and environmental management plans, implementing safe systems of work, and participating in risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.
* Stakeholder & Client Engagement – Liaise with clients, designers, subcontractors and regulatory authorities, attend site and progress meetings, and proactively manage issues to maintain strong, professional working relationships.
* Reporting & Systems – Prepare accurate project reporting on progress, risks, quality, safety, and cost, and ensure project documentation is correctly managed within company systems.
* Mentoring & Continuous Improvement – Mentor and develop junior engineers, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support a collaborative, accountable and high-performing project culture.
About You
* Civil Engineering Qualification or equivalent
* Current C (Car) Licence
* Construction White Card
* Intermediate to Advanced computer skills – Civil Pro highly advantageous
* Must have previous working experience with the above duties on Australian projects
* Must have the right to work in Australia (Sponsorship not available for this position)
* Must be prepared to undertake pre-employment medical examination and drug/alcohol test as part of the recruitment process.
