1LM is a specialist finance and accounting firm located in Canberra, Australia. Our clients range from large Commonwealth Government departments and agencies to private sector and not-for-profits. We work with CFOs and their teams on various projects including financial management, budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and finance business partnering.
Our firm is growing, and we are seeking candidates across the spectrum (from graduate to senior manager levels) to join our team. These are full-time roles for Accountants based in Canberra, with a significant portion of work at client locations. Candidates should have a desire to learn and develop their skills through hands-on experience working alongside our senior leadership and aim to provide outstanding service to our clients.
Role Description
You will apply your financial management knowledge and skills to deliver professional services as part of wider 1LM client or project teams. Your tasks may include collecting and analyzing financial data, executing accounting processes, and advising business stakeholders. We also engage in financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls-focused projects.

Qualifications
- Australian citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain an AGSVA security clearance.
- An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in Big 4/mid-tier professional services firms or in Commonwealth agencies is desirable.
- Working towards or possessing a higher qualification such as CA/CPA is highly desirable.
- Practical experience relevant to the role:
* Graduate level with less than 1 year of experience
* Senior Accountant level with 3+ years of experience and studying towards/with CA/CPA
* Manager and senior manager levels with CA/CPA and 5-10+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Recent graduates or final-year students are encouraged to apply for graduate positions.
