Overview

This is a permanent full-time position commencing April 2026. The Infrastructure Division is responsible for the strategic planning, delivery and ongoing management of education facilities across Western Australia. The branch ensures that land, buildings and equipment are planned and provided to meet current and future student needs, supporting safe, functional and contemporary learning environments.

This includes land use planning, student enrolment forecasting, facilities planning, strategic asset management, and the delivery of capital works, maintenance and minor works programs. Working collaboratively with schools and stakeholders, the branch supports the Department's commitment to high-quality education through responsive, transparent and accountable infrastructure services.

Role and Responsibilities

* The role provides specialised administrative, operational, and policy support to Senior Project Officers across a range of facilities‐related programs.
* Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining program databases, preparing documentation for capital resource‐sharing initiatives, interpreting policy requirements, and applying local knowledge of existing facilities to support informed decision‐making for the Department.
* The role assists Senior Project Officers in assessing facilities needs, compiling equitable capital works programs and preparing documentation for capital resource‐sharing projects.
* The role also provides high‐quality, client‐focused support to the Minister's Office, schools, school systems, and the wider community. This includes preparing briefing notes and responses under the direction of senior staff, delivering accurate and timely advice, and ensuring strong stakeholder relationships. A commitment to continuous improvement, effective communication, and customer‐service excellence is essential to ensuring consistent access to specialist knowledge across diverse stakeholders.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

* be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
