About the opportunity:
We are looking for multiple Assistants in Nursing for our Mortdale team. We need two permanent part-time on a 26-hour to 36-hour fortnightly schedule. The rate is from $27.52/hr + superannuation + salary packaging.
*Pay rates are determined by the total number of hours worked as an assistant in nursing.*
Role Requirements:
- Experience in Manual Handling (hoist experience) and repositioning is highly regarded.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by the physician and ensure proper documentation of medication records.
- Demonstrated experience in PEG feeding, stoma care, epilepsy management, challenging behaviours, and Dysphagia training/experience.
- Flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends, is a must.
- Great communication skills, ability to follow and implement strict routines, and an understanding of specific needs.
Typical duties might include:
- Supporting customers to develop and maintain independence.
- Supporting customers with personal care, including bowel care, manual handling using various equipment and aids, and other health and hygiene needs such as feeding, medication, dressing, toileting, and showering.
- Keeping records and reporting to the Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse on shift.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Certificate III in Aged Care
- A current Driver's Licence and confidence to drive an accessible van.
- NSW Working with Children Check & Blue Card QLD
- NDIS Worker Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Health Assessment
