BP Aitkenvale is a busy, customer-focused fuel and convenience destination in Aitkenvale, serving the local community with a broad range of fuels and everyday essentials. Alongside petrol and diesel options, the site offers in-store convenience retail and food options, including takeaway choices and the Wildbean Café offer. Customers can access convenient services such as an ATM, rewards programs, and multiple payment methods including major cards and mobile payments.
We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead day-to-day operations, drive commercial performance, and maintain high service standards across the store and forecourt environment. Retail Manager – BP Aitkenvale (Aitkenvale, QLD) Key responsibilities
* Analyse sales performance and local demand to refine product range, promotional priorities, and service expectations.
* Build a strong compliance culture by ensuring adherence to workplace procedures, relevant site standards, and all WHS obligations.
* Conduct regular safety checks, risk controls, and incident reporting processes to keep the store, staff, and customers safe.
* Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely deliveries, quality outcomes, and continuity of essential site services.
* Implement purchasing approaches and pricing activities in line with business objectives, margins, and competitive conditions.
* Lead daily store operations to deliver safe, efficient, and friendly service across the convenience store, café/food offer, and forecourt activities.
* Set and maintain high standards for customer experience, product presentation, cleanliness, and site readiness (including peak periods).
* Manage inventory planning for convenience retail and fast-moving goods, including replenishment, stock rotation, shrinkage control, and accurate stock counts.
* Coordinate local promotions and in-store campaigns, ensuring marketing materials and offers are executed consistently and professionally.
* Support front-line selling by coaching the team in product knowledge, up selling, and helpful customer advice (including loyalty and payment options).
* Maintain accurate records relating to stock movements, wastage, cash handling, banking, and daily financial transactions.
* Prepare and manage budgets, monitor costs (including labour and inventory), and report on performance against targets.
* Recruit, roster, train, and supervise team members to ensure appropriate coverage, capability, and service quality.
About you
* Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in retail operations (convenience retail/service station experience will be highly regarded).
* A qualification at AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma level (or higher) in a relevant field.
Employment details
* Hours: Full-time, typically 38 hours per week
* Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 + superannuation per annum (commensurate with experience)
