Job Opportunity for Mechanical Designer
ASC is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join their Platform Design team. The successful candidate will apply their mechanical expertise to deliver high-quality design and drafting solutions supporting the integration of new and updated designs across a wide range of submarine systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver complex engineering design and drafting tasks in compliance with established industry standards.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
* Provide regular task updates, escalate blockages, and ensure alignment with project priorities and objectives.
* Contribute to improving program cost, schedule, and quality through process improvements.
Requirements
* Relevant trade background or tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline.
* Experience in Mechanical design, including preparation of production-level drawings and documentation.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD to produce 3D models and 2D drawings.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple design activities concurrently.
* Knowledge of configuration management in the design process.
