Job Title: Construction Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site safety and plant/equipment operation
* Study specifications in blueprints, sketch site conditions to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
* Concrete formwork, build moulds to retain wet concrete
* Manual lifting and handling
* Measure, cut, nail, and shape materials such as wood, drywall, or fiberglass
* Erect framework
* Lay building foundations
* Box up and strip decks, stairs, and columns
* Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue
* Install structures and move into position
* Erect scaffolding for assembly of structures
* Construct bulkheads and assemble partitions
* Erect and dismantle formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams, and walls
* Construct the forms including placement of required supports/propping, connection of shutters via z-bars, levelling of wall and induction of pour height
* Work with and/or remove hazardous material
* Striking and stacking of shutters
* Explain and enforce Occupational Health and Safety requirements and other industrial safety matters
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment
* Instruct onsite personnel of lesser experience
