(Level B) $114,917 – $135,932 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.
Overview
Adelaide University, through the Centre for Augmented Reasoning (CAR), invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher. The role is funded by CAR's $20‐million Commonwealth investment to advance machine learning research and translate high‐impact findings into commercial and community products.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the CAR director and research team to scope and develop research ideas.
* Design, implement, and benchmark algorithms, machine learning models, Python modules, demonstrators, and training pipelines for publication and commercial translation.
* Follow design standards and principles to define specifications, design, and testing of software, components, interfaces, and related characteristics.
* Publish research in top‐tier computer vision conferences and high‐quality journals.
* Build and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management to ensure project deliverables are met.
Outputs
* Project scoping and problem‐analysis reports.
* Research publications in high‐quality journals and conferences.
Qualifications
* Completed PhD or a submitted PhD thesis in computer science, computer/software engineering, or a related field with a strong background in mathematics.
* Programming experience in Python and proficiency with deep‐learning libraries and ML platforms such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
* A track record of publications in computer vision.
* Excellent communication skills.
