Business Development Manager – C&I

About the Company

A leading global renewable energy technology provider is expanding into energy storage with the launch of a new Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business unit. The company delivers innovative and sustainable solutions across the clean energy value chain and is now seeking a driven Business Development Manager – C&I BESS to help accelerate growth in the commercial and industrial market.


Role Overview

The Business Development Manager – C&I BESS will be responsible for driving business development, sales, and partnerships focused on commercial and industrial customers. The role will focus on identifying and securing opportunities for behind-the-meter and small front-of-meter energy storage projects, helping clients achieve energy flexibility, cost savings, and decarbonization goals.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for C&I BESS solutions in target regions.
* Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with commercial, industrial, and public sector clients.
* Build and manage relationships with EPCs, developers, consultants, and end-users.
* Lead commercial negotiations, pricing, and proposal development.
* Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to deliver tailored BESS solutions.
* Track market developments, competitor activities, and regulatory trends in the C&I energy storage sector.
* Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer engagements.
* Provide strategic feedback on customer needs and emerging market opportunities.


Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline (Master's preferred).
* Minimum 8+ years of experience in business development or sales within energy, renewables, or storage.
* Demonstrated success in originating and closing C&I-scale technology or energy projects.
* Strong understanding of battery storage systems, energy management, and distributed energy solutions.
* Excellent commercial negotiation and communication skills.
* Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, build-out phase environment.
