Primary objective
In line with Tourism and Events NT's marketing and communications strategy and through trade cooperative marketing
campaigns, maximise awareness and conversion for the Northern Territory (NT) as a leisure travel destination within
Australia.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Coordinate the development, delivery and reporting of Tourism and Events NT's integrated trade cooperative marketing
campaigns, collaborating across the marketing division.
2. Prepare and implement trade cooperative marketing campaign and project plans, within budget and to deadlines, briefing
and managing 3rd party suppliers as required, including media buying and creative agencies.
3. Work with trade partners to ensure NT products and experiences are represented to maximise awareness and conversion,
ensuring new product is added where relevant.
4. Develop new and manage ongoing relationships with trade partners to ensure cooperative marketing campaigns are
developed and delivered effectively and successfully.
5. Coordinate trade cooperative marketing campaign reporting, including the monitoring of systems that track and measure
effectiveness against campaign goals/objectives/budget, optimising as required.
6. Support the Trade Marketing Manager as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Conversion focussed trade cooperative marketing experience.
2. Understanding of the tourism and travel industry and distribution networks both traditional and digital.
3. Proven experience in digital marketing and the ability to track and optimise for performance.
4. Strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to gather large amounts of information, effectively analyse and
interpret to deliver meaningful, strategic outcomes.
5. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with
people of diverse cultures and at various levels.
6. Extensive project management experience including the management of trade partners, consultancies and contractors
and the ability to influence for positive outcomes.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in tourism, communications, business, marketing and/or other related discipline.
2. Knowledge and understanding of the Northern Territory tourism industry, including major players and relevant
stakeholders, or the ability to obtain such knowledge quickly.
