In-House Legal Counsel - Employment Lawyer
RECENT ROLE- Exciting opportunity for an Employment Law specialist to join the in-house team of one of Australia’s preeminent logistics providers. FMH Group is a leading logistics provider with three operating divisions: Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL) and Warehousing, Technology and Transport.
Role: Employment Lawyer in an established In-House Legal team. Permanent role with the option of 4 days a week (part-time) or full-time.
Responsibilities
- Advising P&P; team across all Employment and Industrial Relations matters including independent contractor matters.
- Advising on employment disputes related to termination of employment, unfair dismissal claims, post-employment restraints, redundancy advice, and contractor agreements.
- Manage employment-related risk and compliance obligations such as Award interpretations and WGEA compliance.
- Provide legal support to drafting enterprise bargaining agreements.
- Assist with workplace investigations and the reviewing of reports and outcome letters.
- Manage HR policies and procedures.
- Assist and advise on WHS investigations.
- Represent the Group in employment-related disputes before the Fair Work Commission.
- Support on employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 to 8+ years experience in Employment Law, IR/ER.
- In-house or large-firm experience preferred; demonstrated ability to contribute to business strategy through expert legal advice.
