About The Role Council currently has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Projects Engineer within the Roads & Traffic Department to deliver Capital Works Program/Roads & Traffic related projects. This position will be responsible for managing and delivering assigned infrastructure projects associated with roads, footpaths, cycleways, traffic facilities, bridge maintenance and renewals. Responsibilities include managing contractors and day labour staff and ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with the design, meeting safety, environmental, financial and timeliness objectives.
Responsibilities Preparing and evaluating tender documentation in accordance with the Local Government Act, relevant Regulations and Council's Procurement Guidelines.
Developing Project Management Plans for each project to be undertaken, recognising the defined scope of the project, design and investigation work and community views.
Contract management and site supervision to ensure that the projects are delivered within the defined scope, budget and time.
Preparing ancillary plans as part of the Project Management Plan necessary to manage specific aspects of each project; including Risk Management Plan, Community Consultation Plans and Financial Staging Plans.
Developing Scope documents and project briefs for renewals associated with roads, footpaths, cycleways, traffic facilities and bridges.
Reporting on progress against the Project Management on a fortnightly basis and present the project to the City Services & Assets (CSA) Capital Works Team as required.
About You / Qualifications Degree or tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related field, and extensive equivalent experience in a similar role.
Comprehensive experience in the application of various project management methodologies in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects.
Comprehensive experience in the use of specialized software such as databases, CAD applications, computer mapping applications and project management applications.
A valid Driver's licence and White Card.
